I have need to be out of town, last minute (reason not important to anyone here, but necessary). If I can't buy/set up a timer for my fluorescent grow lights before I leave (i.e. in a matter of a few hours), and my plants are basically less than a week under these lights, and in humidity tents (5 gal jug and 2 liter coke bottle), DEVILS ADVOCATE CHOICE/RECOMMENDATION: DO I LEAVE THE LIGHTS ON THE ENTIRE 2 DAYS, POSSIBLY 3,  vs. leaving them in humidity enclosures but IN THE DARK?
ALSO: should I leave the caps on the jug/2liter bottle, i.e. will the gas buildup be detrimental vs. leaving caps off, and humidity loss?

NOT BEING NEGLECTFUL--THIS IS SOMETHING THAT CAME AT ME, and I am not sure I can get a timer, which I had no need for this first week, as I obviously have business/and job requirements, no vacation plans or unexpected emergencies forseen at the time (am going out of town to see folks first of October, and figured on getting a timer well before then, or just having girlfriend plug in  in the a.m, leaving on 10-12 hours a day, but likely a timer, in case she fell asleep (her family is the emergency reason we BOTH must leave town on the fly).

I would suggest putting the lights further away, but leaving them on. I would also leave the two liter humidity covers on with the caps off. Should be good for a long weekend.

24 hour light hasn't hurt my plants at all- they just grow more that day.   Wink  Just be sure it doesn't get too warm under the humidity tent.
Three days of darkness, on the other hand, wouldn't be good for them at all.
Alternately, can you put them near a window where they can get indirect light while you're gone?

I'd also find something to give at least an inch gap under the 5 gal jug to provide some air exchange and rewater before leaving to give them another source to gain water and humidity from since they are so new.

Lights on.

All the above are good advice too.

Depending on your light fixture, if you have two bulbs, couldn't you just remove one of them and leave them on all weekend.
