Greetings all-- Just set up/typed grow log, posted, but didn't immediately see it take, on my profile. Hope it is just a matter of taking some minutes, etc., as I don't want to retype all that here, now at least.

Main question is this; upon recommendation of seller (ebay), am using a 5 gal. H20 jug for humidity tent on one fair condition, three stalks (leaves became droopy, spraying before potting for a few days made for blackened edges, etc., then pinching off onced shrivelled, or just dropping off on own), of Blossers (the healthiest one is 10-12", others/stalks are 10-12", 12-15, 15-18", thread attached to some taped together plastic chopsticks for support). DOES THE LIGHT BLUE TINT OF THE JUG ALLOW FOR PROPER LIGHT influx? Have three smaller (separate, Hofmann & Wasson) plants in second 5 gallon pot, only a few inches at most tall, all under 2 liter coke/plastic bottle, lighter green color than the others were/ and one hanging in there (three small leaves, one large leaf) Blosser. BEFORE I GET A SECOND 5 GAL JUG for humidity tent, owing to fact a few leaf TIPS on these little healthy guys have touched sides of bottle, blackened, etc, wish TO KNOW IF THE STANDARD LIGHT BLUE OF THESE JUGS ALLOWS OR DISALLOWS GOOD LIGHT INFUSION, i.e. does the bottle HAVE to be the clear, glass color?

Also, have pinched off just one or two of wetter, black tips on healthy little H & W strains, leaving dry black tips on one or two--should I leave these dry ones to fall off, or PINCH oR TEAR THEM GENTLY OFF, AS WELL??

     Many thanks, Sageseer

well first off dont buy from ebay 96% of sales are fake  go through the grow logs and look closely to see if anything matches your plant and yea the blue tint may be ok its a mostly clear plastic you need a grow light pretty soon after they start to perk up

Thank you for the reply--as to the GROW LIGHT; is this different than the fluorescents (twin 40 watts, like one sees hanging over a work bench in a garage, 4 foot long, and they were purchased at a home and garden center, for plants, specifically, I believe, will double check on that, but rather sure the employee asked, and I said, "Yeah, might as well get the bulbs that are set up for plants".

Again, my thanks, and especially for the ebay tip--had initially purchased the small (healthy ones, still) H & W (?) strain from an online company that had a rather thorough looking website, TheatricumBotanicum, I believe off the top of my head, in California, and then (immediately post purchase) I saw 2 or three customer complaints against them, i.e. took a long time to deliver, or never got, etc...even just, "Right plants, but took a month or more". Called my bank, but didn't use a check, so had to wait until if and when they denied my immediate emailed request to cxl the order, for bank (credit card) charge back.

That's why I went ebay (believe I saw a blogger state, "You're better off just buying from ebay", but, maybe he was being sarcastic. At any rate, much obliged.

Hi Sageseer. Welcome to the forums. I also bought 4 of my plants through Theatrum Botanicum. Mine took about 12 weeks to arrive but they are indeed the real thing. I fell into the same trap. I ordered and then found all the bad reviews. I am completely satisfied with my purchase from them, it just took a long time. I think there is a lot more fraud from eBay. Apparently Theatrum Botanicum was purchased by new people a couple years ago and they can't keep up with the orders. Anyway, their H&W's grow really really fast! Have a look at my first grow log to see them.

I have been growing under 4 foot "Natural Sunshine" fluorescents from Home Depot for the first half of my grow log. I then found double packs of "Daylight Deluxe" fluorescents which are actually a higher color temperature (which is better for the plants) and they are about half the price. I never noticed them before when I went to Home Depot because they are in a jumbo cardboard box on the bottom shelf and not with the single packaged tubes at eye level.

The fluorescent tubes are marked right on the tube what kind they are. Mine have the printing "Natural Sunshine" for the Natural Sunshine tubes or "F40/T12DX" for the Daylight Deluxe tubes. I have had great success with them. I try to keep the lights within 4 inches of the plants.

Hope that helps,
JARG
