Ok well I have had my plants for almost a month now ( a month in 9 days) and they are doing pretty well. But I noticed that one plant is growing much more vigorously than the other and the only difference I can see between the two is that the fast grower came with only medium sized leafs while the slower growing plant has two large damaged leafs and the rest are about the same as my speeeedy bugger. Would it be unwise to remove those two leafs to let more light reach the lower nodes or just let the plant drop them when she feels like it?

Could you post pics to see the extent of the damage on the leaves.

I usually would leave the leaves.

the plants will grow in different times as the plants recover from the shock and work to build a new root ball.

as long as you don't see any pests/foreign diseases I would leave leaves alone and just keep doing what you are doing.

Mine was similar when I got it - two big ugly leaves and lots of nice little ones.  After 2 weeks of slow growth I finally cut one off with not much change so I cut the other off a week later.  All of a sudden she started to grow much faster and healthier and have to prune large leaves every other day to make room for new growth.   The leaves seemed to need too much energy to support the rest of the plant.   It may have been a coincidence but who knows?

the old leaves will start to curl up and die as the plant diverts energy to new growth. Give it time, she knows what she is doing.

whereas i would normaly agree with jdog, and say let it grow leasurley, i also have to add that dammaged leaves(also leaves which are being "dropped" are akin to a human with frostbite(or simmilar incurable festering wound) as long as its there, the plant/human will try to heal the wound, unsuccessfuly untill it is removed.  whereas my comparison is weird you get the idea,

IF the plant does have other leaves to support itself you should remove the dammaged leaves, as the plant will keep trying to "heal" the leaf and diverting growth energy to this healing process. either way the plant should be fine dont worry

And it was the last normal thing before the world broke apart. . .
