Pics? did somebody say pics??? haha
Heres a very old stem which I got to restart from nodes, I left it outside in a bucket of water for a few weeks/ months.... sometimes its hard to get older stems to pop leaves at the nodes. It put roots out later on, and then I planted it somewheres....

these are only 1/8th inch teeny teeny little leaves, but once you see your plant popping green at the nodes, you KNOW its going to be healthy.
when I have marginal cuttings or sick plants, I don't touch them at all, other than to keep the soil moist, and some half strength light,
I just leave them outside in some shade.........I wait unitl I see these little harbingers of life....then I know that plants will grow.
