If I understand you correctly the cat broke the plant in half so that there is still part of it that is planted in soil and the top part broke off? If so, leave the part in soil alone and put the top half in a bubbler to get it to root. Do you have pictures?

no but you are correct but the problem is the bottom has 1 leaf and the top has a half an inch from the leaves to the break point

The bottom half should be fine if it has roots. It can lose all of it's leaves and still grow back. Just leave it in it's soil pot and it should be fine. If the top part is only 1/2" tall it may not root, but you might as well try if you want to have a chance at saving it. You could also try just water with an air bubbler too without the perlite as long as you keep the rooting area dark. Perlite tends to float around a little bit and it may completely smother the 1/2 tall clone. Try to get a clean cut with a sterilized razor (obviously be careful with this) before you try rooting it. On a good note the neighbors cat just pinched your plant for you so now you will have 2 or 4 tops that grow up.

Cut off all the bottom leaves so that you have at least an inch of stem. Then put that in the JARG bubbler and it should be fine. It's a very good chance it will form roots and become another plant if it is 4" tall.

Yes, as long as it has some sort of root ball. The ceter stalk may brown all they way back down to the dirt and die, but something should pop back up and start growing. It will then continue to grow back into a full plant with many branches just like any other regular plant. Someone posted a picture of this exact happening to their plant in my first grow log on one of the earlier pages. Go check it out and you will see what I mean.
