I've got mites on my plant! I was wondering why it wasn't looking so good.
Any help?
How do I get rid of these fowl beasts?

Hi i have been a lurker on the site for some time to do some study on salvia.
I obtained a Rooted clone about a month ago and so far so good with the plant.
I am using a herbal mixture of Miracle Grow soil 50% and 50% perlite and i only have watered it just enough around the plant to keep it happy and to avoid getting the rest of the soil to wet for roots that arent there yet.
As it gets a little larger i give it a little more and i mist it 3 or 4 times a day.  Smiley
About ''mites'' well i think i saw some of them and other little bugs flying into and out of the soil. Its almost as if some larva is in the soil the way you get it but i seemed to have gotten rid of them real fast by adding some dry coffee grounds into the top of the soil, stirring in a light coating to about an inch or so down then i put another good dusting on the top of the soil. It seems that insects of all sorts will take a hike real quick.
Something about the coffee grounds that insects seem to hate. Maybe im wrong but it always seems to work.  Smiley

caffiene goes to the brain!!!!!.  Ever try that 2x wash method on coffe?...no luck///....

... coffee grounds may mimic sharp sand, which mites don't like....grounds are good compost starter, with wood chips and banana peels type stuff..'or mixed with soil, dry gounds are better when using bulk amounts

Neem for soil and leaf mites.
