Ok this shows my biggest green. It is over 10". I just replanted it as it was grow'n right against the side of its pot/tray.
http://www.salviasource.org/forum/image-gallery/2051/0/This cut'n survived a few glances due to me, the glances broke off at leat one real nice leaf. It also managed to make it with a humidity -20% for at least 3 weeks. This cut'n has a main stem/root area that starts right under the soil then after 1/2" the main stem/roots bend horizontally for at least 2". This bend in the main stem made it impossible for me to center it in the pot when I repoted (I just repoted).
During the 3 weeks of bad humidity I notided little change in the plants growth and the leafs looked ok. Since then it has been in -80 f and 50-80% humidity for 2 more weeks & started to show the new leafs about a week ago.
I did not grow this from a cutting....I bought it thinking I may buy and grow smaller cuttings and if I could keep this alive for a couple weeks I could probably handle smaller ones.
Now I wonder a few things.
One is leaf color. Is the color look'n ok for young leafs (the small ones, the large leafs were there when I got it)?
The horrizontal stem leaf mass has me wondering if I could cut it and expect growth from the root stem?
I also wonder how deep a cut'n should be when cloned?
Any thoughts...suggestions...etc...are welcome.
