Ok this shows my biggest green.  It is over 10".  I just replanted it as it was grow'n right against the side of its pot/tray.

http://www.salviasource.org/forum/image-gallery/2051/0/

This cut'n survived a few glances due to me, the glances broke off at leat one real nice leaf.  It also managed to make it with a humidity -20% for at least 3 weeks.  This cut'n has a main stem/root area that starts right under the soil then after 1/2" the main stem/roots bend horizontally for at least 2".  This bend in the main stem made it impossible for me to center it in the pot when I repoted (I just repoted).

During the 3 weeks of bad humidity I notided little change in the plants growth and the leafs looked ok.  Since then it  has been in -80 f and 50-80% humidity for 2 more weeks & started to show the new leafs about a week ago.

I did not grow this from a cutting....I bought it thinking I may buy and grow smaller cuttings and if I could keep this alive for a couple weeks I could probably handle smaller ones.

Now I wonder a few things.

One is leaf color.  Is the color look'n ok for young leafs (the small ones, the large leafs were there when I got it)?

The horrizontal stem leaf mass has me wondering if I could cut it and expect growth from the root stem?

I also wonder how deep a cut'n should be when cloned?

Any thoughts...suggestions...etc...are welcome.

ohh hey how do I attach/embed an image?  all I see is [ img ]  etc when I click insert img

Looks good, but don't take any cuttings yet!  Let it grow and branch out.

yeah, just little babies, you will get more plants in the long run by letting them run wild for a growing season, then taking 20 or 30 cuttings in fall.....its gets exponential really quickly, also taking cuttings slows plants down...

......light green is more than likely lack of Nitrogen fixing, not a problem unitl leaves fall off or they turn yellow

.....perlite doesn't hold much, ferts..... so be more regular  with applications, or increase amount or use foliar. spray.....

I would let them be a little cooler too , large plants can handle heat, but smaller cuttings seem to do a little better at 70F-60F

Kewl to hear from you guys.  Good to see help out there.

Yea I really didnt think cut'n would be good, so I didnt, but dang its a trip how this bigger cut'n bends under the soil.  It almost looks like someone set the cut'n on the soil, let it root, then later when it was rooted they just covered it with .5" of pot'n soil.

On the temp thing I stay below 80 f....usually 74-80 f....its a bit to much to cool the whole area here in Nevada or I would keep it lower.

On the fert I go with mg's 10-10-10 time released.  I added some to this big one after I took it out of the dry weather & also put some on my smaller ones as soon as I got them.  The smaller ones seem to have better color, but this bigger one is get'n greener and greener.

Hey, to answer your img insert question, I will just give you what JARG told me a day or two ago:

Quote
First you have to upload your picture to the gallery. Then view your picture in the gallery. Right click on the picture and "copy the image location". In your post click on the "Insert Image button. It will make a tag similar to this [ img ][ /img ]. Then just paste the image location in the tag. so it looks similar to this: [ img ]http://www.salviasource.org/images/gallery/2020.jpg[ /img ] (Note I had to put extra spaces in the img tags so they would show up in this post). And that's how you post pictures.
