I was taking 0.3g dried per week when the plants were 1.5' tall with many outward branches... About 4 months from the birth of a clone.

3 large leaves per plant per week.

I'd take off the leaves I had to, to accomplish my growing plan... Like, pulling off side leaves to let outward branches go, etc.

Your patience will be rewarded with better growth.

In time she will shed her leaves and you will have plenty. plus the ability to have many more clones.

the other day i accidentally brushed one of my plants and knocked off a healthy but old leaf. i realized that a lot of the older leaves were eager to come off so i started plucking like mad.
is it ok to remove these leaves or should i wait for them to do it themselves?
i realize that plants need as much leaf surface as possible but sometimes think that removing the leaves that block sunlight from reaching the lower branches allows the plant to grow more vigorously in the long run.
newer leaves are relatively hard to pull off but the older leaves seem to snap off with very little force. this leads me to believe that pulling them off is a good idea.

I'm not sure but I always leave them on and when the plant give them up I graciously receive her gift.

The way I see it is she will tell me when I need to take the leaves.

if you learn to respect the plant and listen to her she will repay you in kind. Its about reverence to the plant. Remember plants are alive just like any animal.
