Should I prune now?

Should I cut off the top of the stem to help promote branching outword? And if I do will it be good for a clone to root?

nooo. Not until you get large side leaves should you pinch or prune.

I'd never actually prune my salvia though... Pinching only.

I agree. Let plant alone for the next 6 months....buy ingestion grade from somewhere. so your plant cn grow its leaves out.


 I didn't touch my  first plants for 8 or 9 monthes, until a dog broke off a branch

the more leaf surface area there is, the more leaves the plant can grow..its a positvie feedback cycle, but once broken, its hard to get started again.

I felt the same way as you, Just be patient and she will grow. After a few months I had so many cuttings, I was giving then away to new homes.

Build a relationship with the plant and she will reward you.

as the other posts don't already tell you. No! She isn't mature at all and it may take some time for her to do so.
