Sorry for the blurry pic but that is the best my webcam will do.

Should I cut off the top of the stem to help promote branching outword? And if I do will it be good for a clone to root?

nooo. Not until you get large side leaves should you pinch or prune.

I'd never actually prune my salvia though... Pinching only.

I agree. Let plant alone for the next 6 months....buy ingestion grade from somewhere. so your plant cn grow its leaves out.


 I didn't touch my  first plants for 8 or 9 monthes, until a dog broke off a branch Shocked

the more leaf surface area there is, the more leaves the plant can grow..its a positvie feedback cycle, but once broken, its hard to get started again.

I felt the same way as you, Just be patient and she will grow. After a few months I had so many cuttings, I was giving then away to new homes.

Build a relationship with the plant and she will reward you.
