So my friend and I were really curious about how much of an effect your surroundings really do have on your trip and we were especially curious about how one would react in a very plain environment such as an empty room or even more interestingly, an almost white room. Basically- we wanted to know how your mind would react with a blank slate to work from where it is only your mind doing the work. Does anyone have experience with a situation like that? and if so, how did it affect the trip?

Yeah, I've tried it three times from the same spot (a really comfortable recliner in my dorm room) with similar conditions for each one.

I wrote about my trip and posted it here- http://www.salviasource.org/forum/index.php?topic=1803

I'm planning on trying it again tonight or tomorrow at some point, but now that everyone is moving out of the dorms, I'll be forced to try a new spot.

I'm thinking I may try it in an empty room.

Environment is so incredibly important to me. I used to do it in my bed listening to music, and my trip was exactly the same each time. I actually got up during the middle of my last trip (took an ENORMOUS amount of willpower) and brought myself out of it... I didn't want to spend 15 more minutes in the same goddamned cartoony world.

So, I started taking it other places... On my couch watching tv, On my staircase staring at a mirror, down by the lake... Not in a forest or on grass because I hate insects and arachnids ( Grin) and that would probably ruin the trip for me if a spider happened to crawl over my face or something  Undecided.

But I digress... The trips where I took it somewhere else were incredibly different.

Wow, the mirror idea sounds like a really cool one! So many possibilities that I would never think of...

But out of curiosity, what level do you typically shoot for with your salvia experiences?
I ask because mirror+staircase sounds dangerous.

Haha. Yeah... I was only on the bottom stair though, so I'd fall, at max, 16" :p. I also have extraordinary "tripping will" so I'm not too worried...

Depends... I normally shoot for a 4-6 depending on my mood and my lungs!

For me, honestly, I can't trip inside, it just feels wrong.  And I've heard from many people that if you smoke with people around you, you'll freak out and think everyone is agaisnt you.  I personally love the great outdoors, that's when my trips are most spiritual and mind boggling.  The only exception is in my room, because it's my lair, and I will always feel comfortable there.

My situation is indoors during a severe thunderstorm. The world outside the window is so dynamic with the moving trees, stuff flying through the air, clouds billowing, lightning, thunder, rain beating down on the roof... awesome.

Its best to if you dont have someone sitting htere laughing at you, i think that ruined it for me.... I recently decided to try it again after that awful trip and nothing happened, I did four rips of 20x and decided to wait for another day, but I do feel much happier for right now its been 2 or 3 weeks, which is a great after effect, confidence and happiness.

The worst thing one could ever do is to try and trip on a schedule. If you have somewhere to go or if the amount of time you can spend tripping is dictated by an entity outside of yourself, you are guaranteed to have an uncomfortable experience.
I was once tripping alone when my girlfriend's mother asked me to help her put one of those enormous water tanks onto a water cooler. I emerged from the room in which i was hallucinating in a feverish daze and barely barely barely managed to place the heavy sparkletts bottle onto the ceramic water cooler. I then somehow managed to have a conversation.
