ok why is 10x Salvia Divinorum TINCTURE  alot cheap then plan extract, i mean there both 10x  can anyone enlighten me plz??

Where was this SD tincture referred to as 10X, anyway? Tinctures are the SD resins from the leaf that have been dissolved into an alcohol base to make for a solution.

i couldnt postulate as to why they are much cheaper other than they are ripping one(you) off (_kinda_) also i agree that the 10x is probably a most missleading label.  a tincture would require less material (slava extract, chemicals) i guess so it wouldnt cost so much as reconstituting on leaf, aswell  they prolly put less Salv.A in a tincture to get the same/ish effects.

The tincture is pretty expensive.  But it also keeps you in it for over an hour, and it has a very different experience.  Just wish it were cheaper   I think that the ultimate method, though, would be salvia gum.  The length of the tincture w/o having to hold caustic materials over the most sensitive tissue in your mouth for half an hour.

It's cheaper because it's *probably* a hoax. Ethanol alcohol can hold (at maximum) 1.8mg of Salvinorin A per ml.

So, let's say you're buying an ounce of this tincture, at about 28ml. That's 50.4mg of salvinorin A per ounce (if you're lucky...), which is about the same amount as a gram of 10x leaf.

So, IF you're getting a tincture that's actually loaded to the maximum with salvinorin A... and you're getting at least an ounce of it, then yes... This would be a fairly good deal. I'm willing to bet the liquid you get, however, isn't as full as you'd like to think it is though...

Why would it contain less than that?

I'd have thought you'd make tincture the same as you'd make a saturated solution in a lab (ie, heat the solvent up, dissolve as much solute in it as possible until no more will dissolve, then let it cool and filter). Surely that would be an excellent standard to work towards, since then all tinctures would be universal.

If you're making the tincture, then you're right. But lots of "ebay" or headshop tincture is utter crap. Go evaporate down a half ounce of tincture, and wash it with naphtha and 2-3ml of IPA... There's like, 1mg per ml ethanol generally in it. (at least, from the samples I've tried...).

I used to hate smoking salvia, so I purchased a few tinctures to try instead. After smoking some potent (40x) salvia, I decided the tincture was BS (For my needs) and evaporated it down to use as a fortification for the stuff I was growing.

Your mileage may vary... But the stuff I purchased on ebay was really weak.

One has dome initial extractions of SD resin with acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Then one took the resin and redissolved it into ethanol later. It is cheaper that way. Also, once dissolved into an alcohol the Salvinorin A is less stable then the resin stored in a dark container is. Making ones own SD tincture from SD leaf is the best way to go.

I've heard that even 151 proof rum will dissolve the SD resin well enough to make a tincture.

            ok im kinda new to making salvia extract and Tinctures. but i like to play around with things. one day i was reading bout tinctures and i thought i could make a some with plain vodka. i blended up bout 5to 7 grams of leafs and mixed it with 6 shots of vodka and it sit for bout 3 1/2 days in a dark spot shaking it up 2 times a day. tha 3rd day i tried it. i scraping my cheeks with my nail to get all tha dead cells out and i swished it for bout 3min just one shot, then drake it an then sat in m chair to see wat would happen. i got a nice body relaxe affect and a nice head change. i dont know the sci on it but i am a pro drunk and i know 1 shot of vodka would not make me sit in one spot for 45 mins. so i would think the 151 would work even better then vodka.

I've only tried 2 Commercial tinctures - purchased from vendors that KNEW what they were doing - And I swear by them.

Salvia tincture is best used as an aphrodisiac in MY book: It sensitizes the Skin and enhances the OTHER Oxytocsin reactions so much so that the only English words that even come close to describing it are "Death by Orgasm".

The best I've ever had is "Sage Goddess Emerald Essence" - I don't care that it fries the lining of my mouth so I use it straight (Undiluted).  This is not recommended for the average user: think "Chemical spill in your mouth" or "Straight White Lightning" and dilute just the dose you are about to do. (I let my flood of Saliva dilute the burning chemicals under my tongue ... Ow)  I keep a full 2 ounce bottle of SGEE handy & stored in a DARK Place: because it's the ONLY real Magick Potion I've ever found!

And the fireworks aren't popping outside the window as you make love (A La "Love American Style"): they are popping in your head and loins instead. And then you FINALLY let out a HORRIBLE dying scream that sounds as if some murderous plant has knifed you RIGHT Between the Lobes: and suddenly discover that there isn't a bone left in your body! You're made of jelly! Now is a good time to Laugh or Cry from the intensity of it ...

I've also tried Purple Sticky Tincture: it doesn't fry as hard and reminds me of Cognac - also a righteous trip ...

You should Start with 190 proof "Everclear" as a minimum because the water interferes with the tincture and causes Salvinorin A to settle out.

If you have extracted from 100g of leaf that contains about 2.5+ mg of Salvinorin per gram of leaf, you should be able to make at least five ounces of strong tincture that contains close to 1.5 mg of Salvinorin per ml of alcohol. This is higher than most commercial tinctures. If at all possible use 190 proof alcohol to dissolve the dark colored waxy extract because higher proof alcohol will make it tincture more effective. Also, the dark chlorophylls from the extraction will make the tincture far more effective than without it, because the wax both increases the amount of Salvinorin that alcohol can hold and also increases sublingual absorption of Salvinorin. Salvia divinorum tincture does not need as much of the chlorophylls or black wax that will be in it when having used this gross extraction method to be effective. Tincture made this way will have a stronger taste than the kind you might buy from most vendors, but your tincture will be very potent and should work very well.

alcohol tincture cannot hold very much Salvinorin, only about 1.5 or so mg per ml of fluid when at room temperature. It could be a couple tenths more mg per ml, so don't hold me to that figure. People who make Salvia divinorum tinctures don't want the Salvinorin to crystalize out of the fluid so they don't load it up to the maximum it can hold because a temperature drop of just 20 degrees could cause some of the Salvinorin to fall out as a solid. For Salvia tincture you need to use as high proof alcohol as possible and you don't want to use pure Salvinorin with alcohol alone because the compounds in the green chlorophylls from Salvia leaf aid sublingual absorption. The dark chlorophyll compounds in the alcohol tincture will allow high proof alcohol to hold more Salvinorin per ml of fluid, but this effect is more predominent with alcohol that has has very little water in it. Drinking alcohol that is close to 98 percent would be the best thing to use for making tincture, it would be far more effective that way compared to using 151 proof Everclear which is close to 25% water.

I myself would only try extracting leaves with food grade 98% Ethanol and I haven't even looked to see if I can get it. As I said: I've stocked up on Daniels tincture because I've found no finer .... I use it infrequently anyways. If it was everyday it would lose its "specialness" soon.

one shot should have absorbed about 1.5mg of Salvinorin A... which, frankly, isn't enough to make you really feel anything unless you're very susceptible to it. You had the equivilent of smoking about 0.5g of plain leaf.
