I am going to smoke one plain leaf that came from Sally. I will use a blindfold since it is still daylight. It's a small leaf, but apparently the size doesn't matter too much if I'm interpreting the potency of different parts right. I have an aquarium making a pretty bubbly waterfall sound, I think that will go nicely. If the reverse tolerance thing is true I might do pretty well, but at any rate I will modify this post to tell how it went.

Okay, it didn't seem to do much. Whenever I go out there I see a pattern of sort of dots like the static on a TV screen except it's shades of black and grey. Normally once I see that then I disappear into the other side right afterwards. This time I just saw those grey static fields but what I expect afterwards didn't happen this time.
I smoked it less than two minutes ago so my ability to make a nice post may still be diminished. After I saw that static field, the thought came to my mind that one of the main purposes of any hallucinogen is to allow people to communicate on a deeper level than what is normally achieved through standard language.
I then saw this lady that I work with, and I was provided with the example that if she and I were to both smoke salvia at the same time that we would feel a sense of communion akin to a sexual afterglow, with each of us being highly suggestible and thoroughly understanding of anything the other says, even discussions of the deepest emotions would be very simple.
This is a lady who I think is a nice lady, but I think we really don't have much in common, and I really never have any desire to see her in any setting besides at work. She talks bout her parenting experiences as though I should be able to relate to such tasks as having parent-teacher meetings and that sort of thing, and asks me if I know what she means, to which I reply "No, not really, I have nothing to base any intelligent response from". Then she says something like "Oh, right, it wouldn't make sense to anyone who doesn't have teenagers".
So I got the impression that whatever concepts she is trying to convey would be easily intelligible to me if we discussed them while we were both mildly influenced by a psychedelic chemical, even though I have no practical experience directly related to the subject at hand. It seems as though these natural substances may have provided the stimulus for the first peaceful exchanges between people of different cultures.
It strikes me that the accounts of early European exploration of foreign lands almost always involve taking some sort of drug with the local people they meet... Marco Polo took opium with the Chinese, Columbus smoked tobacco with the Caribs, and whoever went to India probably smoked charas with the people there, and these activities sealed for the two parties a peaceful intent for their journeys. The people who go to oppress foreign people generally try to ban them from using their drugs of choice because they know that not having that access will break up the social bonds which would keep them from entering into total submission to their oppressors.
