Transdermal application of salvinorin.

Salvinorin-a is a terpenoid, and from what I've read on terpenoids they can cross through the skin.  Has anyone tried using a poultice of salvia divinorum to see if you could get long-lasting effects without having a bitter quid and a bucket of saliva in your mouth?  I think the skin area covered by the poultice would determine the intensity, and the potency of the poultice would determine the length of effects.  Any ideas/experience on this?  If no one has tried it I would like to once I can harvest enough leaves.  Mentholatum may help to increase bloodflow to the skin surface.  Make a paste of Vicks and ground salvia, apply to a bandage, and tape it to the thin skin of the chest?  Maybe even use an exfoliant on the area first.

I doubt that using a pure leaf, ground or otherwise, would be a good vector for trying dermal absorption. I would take an extract, measure it out properly, and add the chemical into the adhesive on a bandage. I would be afraid of a chemical in Vicks that might lock out Salvinorin A, or destroy it.

Hmm... I guess that could be a problem...  Oh well, if I ever have a huge amount of leaves that I can spare for it I might just try anyway.  Of course, that would be a long ways away, since my Sally is still little more than a stick.   You just never know what could work until you try!

Anyway, I do wonder if this would be possible. I remember seeing an eBay listing for Salvia "creme" that you rub into your skin to trip...I thought it was total bs, but maybe not... Although I haven't seen anything like it since.

One has gotten 20X SD resin on his hands several times. one rubbed into his skin with cream, and no effects were noted at all. Thus, I'm thinking that Salvinorin A can not work that way.

You'd probably need a vehicle such as DMSO to penetrate the skin, and depending on the strength of the extract you could take too much pretty easily.

well not quite i heard he would put little cuts on his scalpe for it to enter his blood stream any way he did massive dose of lsd my friends dad used to roudy for him and he siad that he would just puor acid like a beer and drink it

Ok, I'm calling shens on that one...

30ml of most water LSD tincture will usually contain between 15000ug and 25000ug of LSD... 3 Liters would contain roughly two million micrograms of LSD, or about 2g of the chemical. At this dosage, humans will, almost definitely, succumb to cardiac arrest or respiratory failure... Hell, a dose of around 1mg/kg (around 1200x the regular dose) is often reported as fatal... Although, I've seen people personally thumbprint 100mg to no ill effects (other than tripping for a good 48 hours).

Actually believe it or not, rectal tissue has the highest absorption rate of any skin on your body. If you could fill a suppository with salvinorin A pure crystals with a neutral base I'm almost sure it will work. I'm not too keen about having stuff in my anal cavity, but if you were up to it,it could work.
