I want to leave it up to the general community as to what I should do with my next set of fresh leaves. I am getting ready to take a few more clones off of each plant and will have quite a few fresh leaves available. I have normally just been drying and storing them. I am curious about the quid method though... I can't decide so I figured I would leave it up to the community. The poll ends at the end of the day Saturday the 16th.

Yeah, I haven't tried a quid yet, but just thinking about enduring the effects of salvia for that long is daunting, but really intriguing.

That's the way I look at it. I really want to get an experience report out of it. I'll have to do some reading up again on how to prepare to make it more effective. I remember something about listerine or something...

I remembered the same thing about the mouthwash, and after a little hunting, I was able to find where I read it.

The User's Guide at sagewisdom.com had it- http://www.sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html

Quote
The effect of Salvia quids can probably be increased by first treating your mouth in a special way to increase its ability to absorb salvinorin A. To do this you will need a toothbrush and an alcohol/menthol containing mouthwash such as Cool Mint Listerine®, (or any other brand that contains alcohol and menthol). Gently brush the lining of your mouth, including the tissue under your tongue, and the top surface of your tongue. This removes layers of dead cells normally present. Do not brush hard enough to cause bleeding. Then rinse with the mouthwash for at least 30 seconds. Be sure to get mouthwash everywhere in your mouth, including under your tongue. Then spit out the mouthwash and rinse once with water.

Hey this is my first post on this site but after smoking the dried leaf many times I tried the quid method a few weeks ago...

I took about 20 fresh little leaves, rolled them into a ball and packed it like a big ol' chew on the side of my mouth. (Oh first I brushed my teeth and used mouthwash).  I held the quid in my mouth for half an hour chewing gently every few minutes and tried to hold the saliva that built up under my toung (this was way harder than I anticipated).  While waiting for the onset of effects, I closed my eyes and took deep slow breaths.  I experienced a small alteration in perception but it may have been from the breathing.  I definately didn't have enough leaves.

Anyways, next time I want to roll tight quids to increase the density and amount of leaves going into my mouth -basically, as many quids as my mouth will hold.  The hardest thing about the quid method was holding the leafs inside my mouth for long enough for the salvinorin to work its magic (even though it didn't).  Hopefully, next time I'll be drooling though.  GOod luck!

Ok Ok Ok sure it is 45 minutes, but it isn't going to be a level 5 trip for 45 minutes! I am expecting at best to get into a level 3 for a short while. With more likely a result similar to what VampireElf just described.

Hmm... you say 20 fresh small leaves rolled into a ball all fit into one cheek? I hope I will have more leaves than that...I may have to do some trimming. I still have all the dried leaves from the last set of clones I took and may use those in the quid too. I'll get a picture (with a size reference like a lighter) of all the leaves when I do it. I have a postal scale that I use for shipping things but it only goes down to 0.2 ounce increments or in the other mode 0.01 kilogram increments. Either way I will weigh the leaves before I do it to try and get as close of a weight as possible.

eesh yeah the crappy thing about a quid is you're going to have to have a lot of those leaves packing in your lip, and if you only want to get to level 3...well why don't you just make an extract or smoke a lot of plain leaf?

It's not that I "want" to get to level three....I just don't think I can reach a higher level with the quid method. But that's what the experiment and my forthcoming report is all about.
