does being closely related mean possibly having some sort of similar effect?

Possibly.

Finding Salvia divinorum's ancestors or a close cousin could tell us alot about the plant!

Do it!

The only thing I know is what I posted, just that those two species are supposed to be closely related to Salvia divinorum.

This is a sweet topic, I've wanted to get this going for a long time. If possible it would be great if you could try to collect pictures of the different clones. Perhaps start a topic to request them from other members.

Paradoxic: they ALL Look the Same EXCEPT for the 'Luna' Strain.
I can tell which of my plants is a 'Luna' strain just by looking at their leaves.
Other than that one glaring exception: all Salvia divinorum plants are morphologically similar.
Photos won't help any.  (But they sure are fun to look at.)

I know I've posted photos of this before.

But I'll try to get some new photos of the comparative leaf shapes for you, soon.

I thought i saw a picture of a strain that had rippled (dry-looking) blotted leaves.   Maybe that strain is dead now, but i want to say that it was the Andromeda strain (heh, not the michael chrighton variety) though I'm not sure.
