I am new here and very new to SD.  So new, in fact, that there isn't anyone that I know around here (outside of Seattle) that knows what SD is.  Given this, I will be ordering a plant from this site at some point soon, unless someone wants to send me one  Wink I can assure you your baby will be well taken care of.  Anyways, just dropping by to introduce myself.

Yeah and given all of the frosty mornings around here lately, I don't want to risk it freezing.

just SD is super cold sensitive being very tropical and whatnot, in the meantime you should chill out on the boards and learn what you can, read up on common problems that people have posted about here  so you are ready to take care of her. knaw what im sayin!

I've been to Seattle, I love it there. Thats probably for the better that not many know of it. If the publicity can stay low enough through the attacks on SD until they have blown over, I think it will stay legal nationally.

I think in the grand scheme of things, Seattle and WA in general wouldn't be too opposed to SD (except those his in the East  Grin).  Nevertheless, the less people know about it the better at this point.

That site is really confusing.  What is its purpose?
HO-Ho-ho!

Of what use is a "Santa Claus" in this day and age: where myths are dissected as they shrivel away in the light of scientific inquiry?

What possible purpose could I have for listing all this FREE Software and "Offers" that I've found over the last couple of years - and not EVEN making money on pop-up advertising by Google (per the click) - in fact not even one dime?

  • To educate people to the Fact that there is Such a thing as a free lunch: "Open Source" DOES Exist and some of the finest software I own cost me nothing!
  • To celebrate the spirit of "Peace on Earth - goodwill towards people" season on a daily basis - in a non-commercial way.
  • Because I don't have enough Money to give everyone the material tangible Item they desire most: but if you were saving $650 up for PhotoShop and then found out about "GIMPShop" from Software Santa - and found out it was more than adequate for your needs ... you'd just have 'freed-up' several hundred dollars!
  • So I can give gifts to nice people all year long: and wear the HAT ...

If you think my Site is confusing compare it to the site I'm mining from:

http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/  Registered FREE Projects: 163,229

why don't you go sorting through the 163,000 +  FREE Projects on that site looking for useful software for a couple of days ...

Then come back to Software Santa and find some of the best ones listed right off the top!

Or Perhaps you already know about all of these projects: GIMPShop, Inkscape, FontForge, Stellarium, Thunderbird, FireFox, ClamWin, KompoZer, The Battle for Wesnoth, Fish Fillets NG, Blender 3D, jGNASH, Scribus, SimplyCapture, 3Delight (& Ayam), Persistence of Vision, Open Office, PDF Creator ...
To mention just a few off the top of my head ...
those can replace over $8,000 worth of commercial software!

No use ... really ... I'm not making a dime ...

Go ahead and BUY PhotoShop ... Quark ... Freehand ... Acrobat ... M$ Office ... Quicken ... Front Page ... Font Creator ... and all the rest ... I don't Care ...
