well...
a fellow salvia grower, a member of this site, gave me a hefty bundle of cuttings a weekend or two ago. To show my gratitude (and perhaps woo a plant or a few more cuttings from him) i'm going to drive back up north one of these weekends and hand him a pie.
salvia isn't a culinary herb (perhaps because it tastes terrible) but who's to say it cant be used as a garnish? i think its much prettier than parsley.

I tried a tea of salvia, just for kicks thinking "Hey, the leaf smells nice, I bet it tastes nice"

Salvia tea tastes different if you mix it with something very sweet, almost sour.  It's like a bittersweet tea, and it tastes pretty good.
