So i found out that we might possibly cut down the use of fossil fuels and starts usuing algae to make oils and gas

I think that would be pretty crazy to start using gas from algae (the annoying ugly crap we see in our fish tanks or in ponds)
I thought it be just a pretty good point to bring up and very interesting

There are many interesting ideas for algae. I don't have a link, but there is an idea to use algae to reduce the ppm of carbon in the atmosphere. By using a certain strain of algae that fills with carbon dioxide and sinks to the ocean floor we could reduce the current carbon content. The problem is that this would involved drastically changing the PH balance of a region of the ocean, which could have terrible effects on sea life.

Algae is also one of the worst global producers of Co2, and the foremost de-oxygenator of water... but you don't hear that too often do you?

Just goes to show that media, is largely sensational. Hits/reads sell, facts often don't.

there was a scientist who made a emotion-radio telescope out of algae back in the early 1900's got some crazy repeatable readings from the big dipper --:
