I go to Comic-Con for a week and the place falls apart without me?

5,000 words about the Wild and crazy party!

And now I'm going back to bed to catch up on sleep.

Bought it at Wal-Mart for $7.50.

I bought 2 of them a couple of weeks before the Show ...

I went as "Software Santa"  http://softwaresanta.com and gave COOL software presents away like crazy!

2 or 3 folks Wanted my picture as Santa .... The Beard and the Belly and the Laugh wrinkles on the face are Genuine Santa Claus: no Makeup!

Welcome back!! We've missed you Kiss  Sux about your computer, sorry to hear that!  Glad to have you back, tho!!
No, Getting a FREE new Computer in Exchange for a DEAD 3 Year Old one didn't Suck at all! I've got all my Data all the way back to 1998: not a Byte was lost! Apple Computers are SO Reliable that they can afford to replace the rare unrepairable one with a brand new one! (If you get the Applecare Protection Plan with it, that is!) That was the nicest thing in OVER 3 years!

What Sucked was the Severe Bronchitis / and a few Months later ripping open my leg ... still hurts some ...

Note that Santa still has his Surgery Ace Bandage on to hold his leg together as it heals ...

But It's not slowing me down anymore! I slept 2 days now and I'm getting my strength back after that Gauntlet called Comic-Con I ran. I worked 15 Hours as a Staff Member spread out over the course of 5 days (3 duty days) and that gave me the run of the Show (With a Badge Marked "CCI Staff" no less!)

And it's not just about comics! It is a media fest of popular culture: comic books, manga, television shows, sci-fi, movies, toys, collectibles, costumes, pagan items, and lots more are all available for sale on our massive trade floor!

And then there are the panels: important insiders in these industries have these meetings in private rooms where they discuss plans for future episodes and then take questions from the audience. Often, just being in the same room with one of your favorite television or movie stars can be a real giddy rush: let alone being able to ask them questions!

I saw Bill Plympton all the way in from NYC!  http://plymptoons.com  (I bought a DVD at his booth.)

The Department I worked for threw a HUGE Pizza Party for It's Staff this year. And I ate all the Marvelous free 'junk food' available at the "Comic-Con Hospitality Suite" too!  Movies ran all night at the Hotel next door ... And the Trading floor is its usual level of impassible overcrowding too.

http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/m18/ this guy has posted 747 photos from Preview Night and Thursday this year - of the Thousands he will eventually post: so you CAN visit Comic-Con 2008 through his Gallery!

http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/m18/

Go look at the ZOO! Jeeze I've never seen so many wild and crazy animals in one place: all bent on partying and having fun! It's the high point of my year.

Comic and sci-fi fans frighten me.  So do mad (insane) clowns!  Although, you seem pretty normal.  Must be the Salvia, LOL.  I went to Rovacon when I was 15.   Scarier than a Grateful Dead show!

I'm the top photo!

Still think I'm "Normal"?

(Maybe I am: compared to the others ...  Grin )

Too Many people crowd the floor: we have outgrown the Largest Convention Center for hundreds of miles around!

Not for Misanthropes or Agoraphobics!

How many dead did you SEE at that Dead Concert, anyways? Were ANY Grateful?   Grin

They all looked like the "walking dead" to me.    What a shame tho... At 15, however, no one had the forethought to tell me that in order to "get it" I had to show up trashed.

re: normal

Compared to some of the conventioneers I encountered in the past?  You're utterly innocuous!  Fun even.
