Strain: Blosser
Lighting: Standard 26w cfl
Grow Media/Soil Mix:Miracle Grow Moisture Control
Fertilizer:None
Temperature Range:60-70 degrees F.
Humidity:50-60%
Started From:Rooted cutting
Start Date:4-04-08

Day 1
I recieved my plant on Friday April 4th and it arrived in perfect health and very perky! I imediately placed her in a humidity tent that I constructed by placing the pot of soil I am going to plant her in into a large semi clear plastic bag (Probably 30 gal.) I left her in the cup and perlite and set her in the hole I made in the soil cup and all. I have a grow light in the area but not directly on her. It gives her indirect light and at the same time warms the tent.

Once I plant her in the soil I am going to ween her off the tent but will leave the bag in place so that if she starts to wilt I can just pull up the bag to tent her.

Day 7
Well She has been in soil for four days now and she is doing great! she is growing slow but I know she will take off soon.

Day 14 and doing well!

Day 21 and growing like mad!

Day 28 and she has really taken off!

Here's another angle.

Day 34 and doubled since last week!

Another angle

Day 45

Ahh. Thought so.

Please, PLEASE, get a 26w CFL bulb instead of that 60w bulb... It'll be about 6$, put out 2-3x more light, and use 1/2 the power.

Yeah, you definitely want a CFL. That like looks like it might burn your plant.

I have the light setup so that it gives it indirect light. I don't have it pointing directly on the plant. It seems to be working fine and the leaves looks good. I am going to look for the bulb You recomended however.

You'd need about 2 of your current lights to give salvia enough light.

A single 26w CF will do it, and use 6x less electricity, and put out 6x less heat.

I switched to the cfl you recomended and she seems to like it much better! I am going to let her get used to it and then I will post some pics of her after about a week under the new light.

Well, She has been under the new light for a week now and has exploded in growth.

The leaves at her top were accidently broke off about two weeks ago and have all of a sudden started sprouting new leaves! Looks like three sets! The strange thing is that one set has round leaves forming not like the usual leaves. I can't get a clear picture to show on here.

But anyhow she has really gotten used to her new home and is doing awesome!

I was thinking about taking the lower branch there on the right and trying to root it. Would that be better than taking it from the very top so she continues to get taller?

Well I took my first cutting from her today. To be honest, I am nervous as hell! I took a lower branch that had four nodes and cut just above the bottom node leaving the bottom two leaves. I removed the lower leaves from the cutting and placed it in a jar of water that I painted the outside black to keep out most of the light from the rooting area.

Should I be ok doing it this way?

Hello All,

I know it has been awhile since I have updated My log but I have been extremely busy. I will be uploading new pictures soon. My webcam just doesn't do a good enough job so I am going to be getting a regular digital camera.

She is almost 15in tall now and bushing out like mad, The larger leaves are over 10in long now!

The cutting is getting off to a slow start but is still alive and trying! I put it in the sun yesterday and she looks alot better today. she has some severe drying on the tips of her leaves so I am going to tent her.
