hmm, idk if i would have taken ALL the leaves, i thought the general rule was 10-20%. none-the-less it looks really healthy.

It was more like four weeks if you count the time spent in acclamation.

 Here is a picture of my Salvia plant just after seven days of basically stripping (pruning) it. I should of taken a picture of then as it looked like two sticks when I finished pruning.

 If you look close at the picture you can see where all the new growth is popping up where it was cut. Interesting note here, I actually pruned the leaf at least 3/8” from the main plant and after three days that 3/8 area turned black and naturally fell off.


 I think the trick is to keep it in a humidity tent and keeping the soil on the dry side. I probably mist my salvia with purified water at least eight times a day, sometimes more.

 She has at least six hours of late afternoon direct sunlight from the window.

 I’m sure I will harvest her again in a couple weeks.

I just took all the old leaves off my plant a week or so ago as well, and I thought it was so cool when I touched the old stems and they just popped clean off!  It's true though, Sally really does grow SO much quicker when you take off all the old stuff.  I've had buds grow to leaves just as big as the old ones in a week or so!

It looks like your plants are doing really, really well. IMHO you may want to start cutting back on so much misting and start to acclimate her to the normal humidity outside of her tent. She will develop a much stronger root system, and if you ever have to leave her for a day or so she won't become stressed.

i was going to suggest cutting down on misting, but the fact that your plants look better than mine told me that your method is definatly working. but its true constant misting will adversely affect root growth.

it would possibly lead to simply slower or less strong root growth because sally absorbs water through the leaves and will eventualy produce air roots in super humid environs. I was wondering how ur sally was growing so fast, she loves getting misted and will grow so big when in a tent/constant humidity, but she is doing great, Im about to defoliate one of my plants to get what you have which is technicaly what you did (taking off all major leaves) but it will produce great results as you can see!

You can do a soil soak with Neem and it will help as well. I have read about it being done, and did it to my plants last week. From what I gather it is mostly done as a pest preventer, but as you saw, it works good on existing pests too. I know what you mean about the smell of Neem, not very pleasant at all...
