Strain: Unknown
Lighting: 18 hrs, SAD Lamp
Grow Media/Soil Mix: 3 parts soil, 1 part perlite, 1part vermiculite
Fertilizer: none
Temperature Range: 23 - 24 degrees C
Humidity: %70 - %80
Started From: Clone
Start Date: 5 weeks ago

I bought a salvia online who came with an excellent root system, though it only had a two inch stem with two nodes. One node fell off the next day, and three weeks later, the only branch was removed to save it from a black shriveled discoloration crawling down the stem of the original plant. I've cut the black end off the 2" stem but there are no more nodes and it doesn't seem to want to grow. This plant has good roots and I was wondering if there was a way to get it to send out new branches and keep growing. Thanks!

Almost all of your conditions sound good, but the plant is obviously not liking some condition it has been given. I don't have any personal experience with an SAD lamp (I had to google it to see what it was), and I am thinking this is your problem. From some quick googling it sounds like SAD lamps don't work well for plants. I would go get a 23watt or higher "daylight" CFL lamp from Home Depot. Can you post a picture? That would tell us lots more.
