she has been out on the deck all summer and yeah she might have been getting too much light. where my plants are out there they get about 4-5 hours of direct sunlight and the afternoon sun always made em look pretty sad and droopy even after a good drink

They dont really like alot of direct sun,, this is a semi tropical that usually grows deep in jungles under canopies where they recieve chopped light that runs across the jungle floor,, too much light and they wilt,, but they will adapt, like my good friends down in brazil!!..if u have room indoors, they like flouro as well as u can see from mine!!

Yes, Landon is correct, it is subtropical and is a deep jungle creature but it does adapt...and quickly it does. The idea is to keep the pot away from light, try painting it white or cover it with a white cloth, then you can let it soak up the rays...once it reaches about 3 or 4 months old, before that it will droop.
Mine is now taking in 6hrs plus of extreme equatorial sun and it is loving it! 14 feet and counting
By the coloration of your leaves and the slight veins on your leaves that your plant is in need of nitrogen and a good transplant to a bigger pot.
