If you're thinking about doing shrooms, eat chocolate before hand, you're almost guaranteed a good trip. Some people can't handle looking in mirrors, some can. But if anything, do it outside and with a sober sitter.
The one time I did shrooms, I had a very good 'trip' that slowly went bad.
So I have totally mixed feelings.
The first few hours were awesome and mostly spent outdoors with others.
It went bad after tripping for hours because I, for some reason, wanted to sleep (4:00AM),
but couldn't when I tried; though I really should have known.
Everything that I normally wouldn't mind started to legit make me angry.
The amazing visuals I was having earlier started to almost completely go away once I went indoors.
I would feel perfectly normal, and then randomly see things change in front of my eyes again. (that lasted quite some time)
I kept questioning if I was still tripping or not, after a while, and still sort of did once it was completely out of my system.
I might as well type out a detailed experience report on Erowid,
though it's been a year since then I still remember almost every moment.
I'm not going to get into all of it here.
All I have to say is my experience went bad when two things in my environment changed:
going indoors, and being alone.
So yes,
I recommend doing it outdoors and with others.
Oh, and I looked in a mirror for a good 10-15 minutes when I was inside.
I don't totally recall what was going through my mind, but it was not good. (relevant to quoted text)
