So I acquired some kratom in pill form (600mg) and I was curious to know how many I would need to ingest to get the "high"

What's the concentration?
I make a 7x resin puck of the "meng da" variety which is about 3x stronger than most generic loose leaf.
I generally suggest 1g of resin extract (or 7g of regular leaf) for a moderate dose.

What is the extraction process for this herb? Similar to that of salvia?

I too am completely thrown off by the doseaging for kratom. I ordered and recieved some 15x powdered extract from bouncing bear botanicals and it states thats its active at 1gram and strong at 3 grams. loose leaf recomendations are 6 grams for active, so If it were truly 15x then it would be a mere tiny fraction of a gram. Im really afraid to try this stuff, i dont want to spend my night puking/nausea becuase theres no standardization in kratom extraction processes.

For a 15x extract, I'd go with like, 2g first taken orally, or 4g if making a tea with it.

There are many different qualities and extracted strengths of kratom. If it is commercial grade leaf powder in the pills, each pill may have about a 1/3 to 1/2 gram in it. Thus, 10 pills would/could be a dose. If the pills have an extract in them. Then it depends upon the #X of it. For example, a 500mg pill of 15X would be a low end(mild) dose, 2 to 3 pills a medium dose, and >4 pills a strong dose. I've heard of 35X Kratom pills out there, and in such a case 1 pill could be a medium level dose.

well I weighed out one gram of 15x standardized extract and mixed it with about 6 oz's of water and chugged it first thing Sunday morning on an empty stomache.. the experience was mirror to taking 2-3 vicodin/percocets but with more energy and less head fog. Nausea was no problem and again on par with taking a couple vics/percs. Effects lasted a good 6-7 hours . Much longer than expected. drank gatorade to avoid the diuretic effect and had no ill effects the following day.
Overall i would rate the experience a very positive one. i think kratom is by far the best kept sectret in botanicals insofar:that being said I will not be turning on any of my friends to it as I can easily see its addictive proprties. This is a potent drug that requires a strong sense of self discipline and restraint. Most of the people i know all struggled with opiate addiction, turning them on to a legal, readily available substitue would be irresponsible and reckless of me.

That is the cool thing about kratom, it does not usually knock one out like true opiates can.

Interesting enough, low doses remind me of adderall.

Yes, many have claimed that the low end Kratom doses are mostly just of a stimulant nature.

I just now ordered some kratom from the sagewisdom salvia shop. This will be the first time I have ever used kratom. My question is, "how much plain kratom leaf do I need to get blissful euphoria without vomiting?" I have always held off on buying kratom because of the reported nausea, but I finally gave in. I have in my past used opiates, in fact I was addicted to them for a little while. I would like to achieve that euphoria that I used to get from opiates without the awful addiction part. That's why a friend of mine said to try kratom. He said he has used it every weekend(much like people use alcohol) and has yet to get addicted. From what I have read 5-6 grams of leaf seems to be a good starting dose. What do you guys think?

The typical dose for commercial grade kratom leaf is 3g(mild effect) to 14g(strong effect). It can be made into a tea, or it can be quided and swallowed. One has never gotten nausea from such either.

Kind of off subject, but does anyone know where to buy Kratom and other psychoactive live plants besides Salvia? The more I learn about psychoactive plants the more interested in them I get. It's completely fascinating to me that plants that grow from the ground can have such an affect on humans.
