Well they made cigarettes legal so why wouldn't they legalize marijuana? Aren't cigarettes more dangerous than marijuana?

I was watching the news and they had a poll asking if people think marijuana should be legalized and 75% said yes.

Do you honestly think that's why marijuana is illegal?

I have no idea why it's illegal. That was just my guess.

Does anyone have the link to the bill?
and does this mean it will be legal if the health committee finds in favor of it?
and is this for the United States?

and jesus. 50 dollar tax per ounce? Thats half of what mids cost around here. (not that I'd know because currently illegal things are bad.)

Anyway, more info pleasee?

AB 390 only applies to California, but if passed, could start a trend for other states. The bill allows for people to grow their own personal cannabis so it wouldn't hard or illegal to circumvent the taxes with a personal garden.

The tax and bill are for people selling marijuana in CA. As bassface said you are also allowed according to the bill to grow your own so it is easy to avoid taxes if you have the income to grow your own. The $50 tax though is on top of cost though so it's not like your only paying $50 for an ounce, but in reality the price of an ounce shouldn't fluctuate much I don't imagine, because people can legally start larger, more cost effective, operations and competition would drive down prices so essentially the $50 the government would make in taxes is only coming out of the people currently dealing illigally's pocket not the user. At least this is my thoughts on it. Personally it's a win win for everyone. Dealers no longer live in fear or under the cover of gang violence, the government profits rather then shelling out $ on a drug war, and the user who typically is not your violent offender no longer gets prosecuted for medicinal or recreational enjoyment of something on the same (if not lesser plane) than tobacco and alcohol.

That seems perfect to me.

Untaxed for personal use.

Wanna sell it? We tax you.

Perfect.

I just don't want to see any restrictions on the cultivation and possession of plants and seeds!

ALL PLANTS SHOULD BE LEGAL NO MATTER WHAT!!!

The bill limits you to to 6 mature plants. Anything larger than that will require a license. For personal use, that should be plenty.

hell yeah 6 plants are ennough. If you supercrop your plants, you can have yields as much as 2 pounds a plant (grown outdoors). And yields of 7-10 ounces a plant indoors. But I'm not a heavy smoker anymore, so this would be plenty for me. You can bet this much................. Alabama, and a few other deep south states prob. wont have  a bill simular to this for a loooooooonnnnnnng time.  sucks.
