You can resize very large images in posts using a variation of the IMG tag in the forum.

The Usual use of the Image BBC Code in the forum, to post a photo in a post, is like this:
Code:
[img]http://seamac.info/cupboard/garage/garden/200802/20080208upskirt.gif[/img]

Which gives us this:

But what you Don't know is that the IMG code supports width=XXX and height=XXX attributes! (where XXX is in Pixels)
Say I want to shrink some huge photo that got posted: I would do it like this ...

Code:
[img width=480 height=360]http://seamac.info/cupboard/garage/garden/200802/20080208upskirt.gif[/img]

Which looks like THIS:

So, all you moderators that run into giant photos just click modify and add width= and height= to the IMG tag and save it. I'll fix 'em all in any post in any forum I moderate.  Isn't that SCHWEET?!

It is [GENIUS+] Is it Not?

Carl, that will "display" the picture smaller, but it doesn't actually "make" the file smaller. If you look at the properties for both of these photos it is the exact same file size. So you would still have to wait for the large size of the picture to load even though it is displaying it smaller.

Genius+ for showing us how to use the width and height though! I didn't know you could do that.

Yep. Same load time.

But SMF supports those sub parameters in its BBC Code:
