Oh yeah, good idea. I will set that board to invisible.
But yeah, I dont really see any immediate need for a crew only forum. I think most all of what we talk about is fine for everyone else to see. If you want something to stay private, just use PMs.
[EDIT] I cant find any way to hide it and I cant delete it because the comments rely on it. Any other suggestions?
Try this: Admin Panel ----> Forum Section ----> Manage Boards and Categories ----> Modify Boards tab
then scroll down to the "Image Gallery" board and click the "Modify" link.
On the page for the "Image Gallery" board ... Look for the section marked "Allowed Groups"Allowed Groups Groups allowed to access this board. Note: if the member is any group or post group checked, they will have access to this board. Uncheck all of them. Then Scroll down and click the "Modify" button.
Now only YOU will see the category when you are logged in ...

As I said, I need to allow for all members to post comments in that board so that wont work. That was actually the first thing I tried but found that it did not allow users to post comments =/

Awwww ....
Then why can't I see the comments in that section/category?
They are in the forum database you say?
Hmmmmmmmmm. Bug report ... Comments in the forum database don't show up in the Category!

Well its not really a bug in the sense that I feel it is unnecessary, its a lot better to just use the gallery to view and comment on images.

It is time to go to the Forum Maintenance section of the Admin panel and back the forum up as well as perform routine repairs.
I just got a serious error ...

Ahhh cool, I thought that might have been it. I used to have some cheap hosting for my sites a while back, but never looked back after changing to a more expensive hosting provider/package. Reliability is the name of the game when it comes to community websites - people often don't need many "excuses" to leave a community/site, and find a different more snappy reliable one these days. Good stuff, its a noticeable difference all round.

No, I'm still getting some very serious errors.
3 or 4 serious errors as a Matter of fact!
First off: a new member registered and he does not show up in the member list.
I searched the memberlist and his profile appears in the search:
http://www.salviasource.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1048 but he's not in the members list when you rank them in order of date joined!
I took a screen shot of his profile, and the error screen, to post in this error report: and the Gallery can't upload them.
"Submit Image Could not copy file to web server.
Click here to return to the file submission form."
Hurray!
NOW it's working just FINE!
You don't have the gallery set up right on the new host yet. I can't upload these 2 screenshots of a serious error!
And PLEASE restore member 1048 to proper woking order: I invited him here and he's my expert and I need him!
I tried to send a welcome PM and your setup went toes up ...

Heh-heh-heh! Forgot to change the Gallery's settings to point to the new hosts IP. Hey: you gotta be an octopus to wrestle with all the branches on this site! You're doing a good job!
Go look at the last 4 pictures in the Gallery I tried to upload! (Edit: Tsk-tsk - they didn't make it. 2 bad)

Yeah, I'm hoping this host works out, I just switched so many its just some initial issues that will hopefully soon fade. Sorry about the gallery, its fixed now...I always gotta forget something. Anyway Jupe is up and running, no need to post errors, you'll make us look bad But yeah if you get anything else, definitely tell me and I'll give the host hell about it. I got Globat and they are really good with customer service, they also say I can get my money back if I'm unsatisfied. Well see how things go.

Everything is fine now. I'll edit the post above.
I noticed the new host is in the Pacific time zone as opposed to the Central time zone. I set my forum time offset setting to 0 from -2 a few minutes ago.
Run the basic forum maintenance routines anyways ...

I gotta say, SMF is outrageous. I just switched servers (in case you didnt notice the significant increase in speed) and then saw that there was an update for SMF. Literally all I had to do was say Install now (in the admin panel) and it was completely done, no use of FTP or anything On top of that they updated the Post.php file, which I had made some of my own mods to (to add Dosage, etc when posting a trip report) and somehow it kept those mods!! SMF continues to amaze me.

I got the topic reply notification email (That you had found an update waiting for you) at 6 AM: and by 6:10 both my SMF forums were updated to the newest version!
http://sageseeds.info/smf/index.php
http://softwaresanta.com/smf/index.php
It took, like, 3 minutes to update everything. (Per Forum)
I'm EVER so glad I was able to Persuade you to switch from that DAMNED phpBB2! Don't ever look back!
Yeah, this is the coolest forum software.
Most secure / frequent patches / Easiest to manage / Most features out of the box / Tons of themes and Mods / AND I just LOVE the FREE "Video Arcade" add-on available from http://www.smfarcade.info/ !
SWEET!
