Thanks for the reply. My current theme is called "Faded Green". It ties in nicely with our Main Site, but not nicely enough. If I'm ever going to skin it, I'll make my own to exactly match the rest of the site.

Unfortunately, I tend to procrastinate...

Oh yeah, the calendar. We'd be able to post all kinds of events...not that I can think of any at the moment though.

And did you know you can "Convert" the built in "Karma" system to a useful "Expertise Ratings system"?

I came up with this little twist myself!

Open your Admin Panel and on the Left side:

Configuration ----> Features and Options ----> Karma

These are the new settings ...

Karma mode: Enable Karma Total

Karma label: Expertise:

Karma applaud label: [Genius!]

Karma smite label:
(Leave it Blank)

A good answer and you click on their [Genius +] button!

I like that idea, but instead of a positive/negative deal I just made it a total...I dont really wanna put a forum feature that can be used to degrade people.

I dont think I want a calendar if there isnt a good use. I have a thing about extra features that arent really used, but maybe in the future there could be a use for one.

Btw Sea Mac I gave you some Karma for the idea Cool

I turned the RSS feed on MY main SMF site to "ON" after seeing yours in action! That gains you an Expertise point!

My pet web site has an RSS Feed Now!  http://softwaresanta.com/smf/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml  Thank you for Enabling ME! This forum Software is REALLY Easy to Customize, huh? All I did was screw up my nerve ... and click on a checkbox!

This isn't really on topic .... As we are as snug as a bug in a rug now ...

But when I click on the Link for the Image Gallery, on the forum main page, it says there are no messages  ...  Sad  Sad  Sad

Anyone else see that? Or is it Just a Mac/FireFox2/Tiger issue?

Where did all the pictures go?

Well the code I use doesnt add the images to the topics list. I am not entirely sure why, but I think it would be somewhat of a process to fix. However, it doesnt matter because I meant for people to use the Gallery on the main site to view images. It works fine from there, in fact a lot better because you can see thumbnails. And the comments still work and everything so I think its all fine. Why would you want to look at a list of titles when you could see thumbnails anyway?

Where is the list of Thumbnails?

Shouldn't the Image Gallery link link to the real Gallery (Where ever it is)?

What do you mean, dont tell me you've never clicked on the Gallery (the big button on the site banner):
http://www.salviasource.org/index.php?page=Gallery

I meant for the buttons at the top of this site to be the main site navigation, the forum is just the base structure or 'backbone' of the site.

Ooooppps! never noticed it.

Suggest you remove the "Image Gallery" board from the forum, then, as it's not REALLY linked to the Gallery on the main site (And I won't try to look for Images in the "Image Gallery" anymore when they are marked in the forum as "New Posts").

It's redundant and non-functional: if you can't just delete that board/category in the forum then, at least, make it visible ONLY to Administrators, by changing access permissions for that board, so it's there but not there after all!

You may already have implemented this ...

It's Just a suggestion ...

But, most of the forums I've administrated have had a "Back Room" or "Engineering Section" that all moderators and Administrators can see but regular members and guests cannot access.

There would be a place to put the SMF Trash Cache where guests and regular members can't get at them but we can ... (Just make a board named "Trash" with admin/Mod access and set the SMF default delete to that folder ... )

And you can have "Team Meetings" with your moderators group without regular members being privy to what is going on with your site ... get everyone on the same page as it were.

Oh yeah, good idea. I will set that board to invisible.

But yeah, I dont really see any immediate need for a crew only forum. I think most all of what we talk about is fine for everyone else to see. If you want something to stay private, just use PMs.

[EDIT] I cant find any way to hide it and I cant delete it because the comments rely on it. Any other suggestions?
