I gotta say, SMF is outrageous. I just switched servers (in case you didnt notice the significant increase in speed) and then saw that there was an update for SMF. Literally all I had to do was say Install now (in the admin panel) and it was completely done, no use of FTP or anything
On top of that they updated the Post.php file, which I had made some of my own mods to (to add Dosage, etc when posting a trip report) and somehow it kept those mods!!
SMF continues to amaze me.
The Update to SMF 1.1.5 has been out at least a week now ... I updated both of my SMF Forums (In 10 Minutes) a week ago! It IS still a 3 click easy upgrade procedure.
Important security updates ... yada-yada-yada ...
I've been testing the SMF 2.0 Public Beta and it rocks: wait until you see all the new features that come with it!
Sometime later this year SMF 2.0 final will be released and you'll upgrade to it. And you'll go "Wow!".
Do you remember the security nightmare that we had with phpBB2?
6 or 7 Spambots signed up every day to post porno links.
I already used SMF and suggested you try it also: and when you install version 2.0 for FREE you'll have one of the most feature laden and secure forums that money can't buy!
I swear to never knowingly steer any of you guys wrong. If I'm coming down like I'm sure about something: I'll willingly bet my own ass on it too.
Oh, and BTW - the links to the « previous next » images in the gallery are reversed / they go the wrong way!
