If it is a standardized extract, there may not be enough waxes and plant fats in it to make a very workable tincture. However, non-standardized 20X SD resin has been used to make SD tinctures before. If one has some SD leaf as well as the 20X extract, one may well be able to mix a few grams of the leaf with the 20X SD to make a better tincture that contains a fair amount to the resins(plant waxes and oils) that help the salvinorin A diffuse through the mucus membranes of the mouth.

Either way, let the SD set in the ethyl alcohol for a few days be fore straining it. The salvinorin A saturation point tends to be that amount in 1g of SD leaf, or equivalent extract  # of Xs, per ml of ethyl alcohol. In this case 20ml of ethyl alcohol per 1g of 20X SD.

Add your 1g of salvia to around 30ml of 100% pure ethanol alcohol, or 40ml of something like Bacardi 151... Ethanol is a much better solution though.

yea but most commercial ethanol is produced from petroleum and is unnatural like isopropyl alcohol....i'd stick with bacardi or everclear.

ethanol is not made from petroleum.  It is made from fermentation of sugar via yeast in an anaerobic (no oxygen conditions).  Ethyl, grain alcohol, can be consumed by humans without serious side effects.  Isopropyl alcohol along with methanol will cause serious problems.   To get ~100% ethyl alcohol, you must distill it from vodka or a fermented liquor using a distillation apparatus.  It is flammable like acetone at higher % so you must be very careful not to cause a fire.

This is not true at all. Alcohols are not created from Petroleum...  It's nigh impossible to do so. Isopropyl alcohol isn't really "un natural" either...
One can source pure drinking Ethanol (99% Ethanol Alcohol), which should be used for these extractions.
