Ok, I got my plant a couple days ago, I had a few leaves fall off, so I took them and put 1 in the dehydrator, and left the other one on my desk
to dry, both of them when completely dry turned brown. My question is: When I see pics. of dried salvia leaves they're green and pretty looking. So, how can I dry my leaves so they too will be green, instead of brown?

Slow drying makes brown leaves when I do it.

If you use a cracked oven (around 200f) it should stay pretty and green Smiley.

Also, the greener the starting leaf, the better.

yah the slower the dry the more time the green has to ... like stop being green, i dried some fresh leaves over my computer monitor (the vents in the back) i put them on a small plastic tray on top of it and they were dry in about an hour, took em off and kept them in a jar type container out of light.

Yeah, if you want to keep them green you gotta quickly dry them. The oven method works well, but I would expect that faster methods deplete potency a little more...it may not make much of a difference though.

I would expect that browner leaves would be best for smoking actually...

Since chlorophyll burns so harshly.

I think a long-dry time would better provide with a smoother smoke. But that's just my MJ background talking.

Why do you crack the oven? Does it affect potency? I've never done that myself, I just preheat the oven to the lowest temp (100F) and put the leaves in.

Cracking the oven helps moist air to escape. A common practice for speeding up drying of foods, plants, etc.
