Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone here uses Salvia for religious purposes?  I'm the head of a small group in Wisconsin that does (though we're rather disjointed).  If anyone is serious about joining, or learning, I can send you a text we use.  I wrote it, so it certainly doesn't carry the weight of God the way Christians think of scripture, but it's based on a series of experiences I had, each one stepping chronologically and thematically forward.  Again, I don't purport to have all the answers or be the next christ, but I believe that by taking what The Shepherdess has taught me and letting interested others know the world would certainly become a better place.

I would like to incorporate the Church soon, as well, so as to have a better chance of being afforded protection under the law, much as our friends at the UDV were last year, but without the legal battle they had to go through.

In Wisconsin with our coming ban, I've already been in contact with our leglisture, and it seems possible that barring a federal scheduling we will be able to get a religious exemption with enough support.

Again, I stress that this is a serious religion, and not a sham for legalized use.

I dont use it religiously, but I'm quite interested in the idea. I dont know how serious I would be about joining but I'm certainly interested in reading the text. If you want you should post it or parts of it up here, its fine by me. I'm really interested in experiences that inspired the start of this religion. Are you aware of any other religions based on Salvia? And what does UDV stand for btw?

Thats really cool you might get religious exemption, I didnt even know Wisconsin was proposing a ban. Thanks for bringing that to my attention I added to the site list. I think I might just send that guy Sheldon Wasserman an email opposing his ban.

Cool stuff and welcome to Salvia Source!

Interesting Hammilton. Perhaps you could start an on-line Salvia divnorum prayer group site too. Many entheogenically inspired folk may like to join such a group.

Religion... -_-

Religion is bollocks, even if it is relatively harmless one like this. Religion encourages people to not ask questions and just accept what's been told. That kind of closed mindedness is dangerous and counterproductive.

What IS it that your salvia experiences have enabled you to believe? What "supernatural" claims have you arrived at?

Well, thew Mazatec have been using SD for religious purposes for centuries. Whatever the case vision quests are not the type of thing that is that dogmatic. After all, we are not talking talking about taking flat bread wafers here.

while i agree with you about organised and chastised religion, i would hope that such a SD religion would more be like ... for lack of a better word like a headshop everyone gathers to share thier latest works(art writings music inspired by well whatever they get inspired by) talk about life help out and whatnot. share visions. Alot can be called bollocks, its like I take my dreams, with a grain of salt. and with that in mind...

experiences, my plants have come to me in multiple dreams, as spirit like bodies(takes a while to understand/explain this) and as the plants themselves, they've shown me how they are going to grow so far one has come true, the other is waiting till i get home to come to fruition.

Thats pretty much what we do with this forum, plus helping each other with cultivation. Call it a religion if you like, heheh.
