LEGISLATION TO BAN SALVIA DIVINORUM IN GERMANY

On January 23, 2008, the German government proposed that Salvia divinorum
(all parts of the plant) be added to Appendix I of the German narcotics law
(Betäubungsmittelges etz [BtMG]). This would ban production, trafficking, and
possession. This law is expected to be ratified on February 15, 2008. The
text of the proposed law only mentions Salvia divinorum. Salvinorin A is not
mentioned.

I hope it doesn't happen.   I somehow thought Germany was  bit more sane and rational than that. I guess the list of places for me to emigrate to once it becomes illegal in the US will just shrink and shrink and shrink.

Hehe I found an interesting term on that forum thread SeaMac linked to... rechtstaat and it appears that neither the U.S. nor Germany are rechtstaats anymore.
