Yeah lets try to keep the discussions on here civil and refrain from flaming and such. I'm not taking sides and I always try not to, whatever the issue someone just needs to stop and then thats all that needs to happen.
Lets bring this topic back to a more constructive level and discuss how Salvia vendors should sell their products and how we might get them to do this. Allegrand, the owner of salviasociety.org, posts on the forums so hopefully we can discuss this issue with him in this topic.

I just don't like people selling things with the advertisement that it will get them high.
That will make these amazing plants become illegal!

re: the emphasis in the User's Guide. In states that have made salvia illegal, negative hype and derogatory, unfair, unrealistic, comparisons to other drugs (LSD, etc) has been a factor but more than hype is at work. Expert medical witnesses at the legislative hearings that precede bans bring up as proof of salvia's danger the 370+ emergency room visits per year by distressed users. (This happened most recently in Minnesota, where the ban is effective in a few days, on August 1, 2010). The problem is dose--specifically too great a dose. 1/1000th of a gram is not what users think is reasonable (today 20X is the most popular buy and the X has risen with time--I know, I retail and wholesale). Emergency room visits are (mostly, usually, primarily) the result of overdose, and are almost equally equally divided (according to testimony), between first-timers and veteran users. Most overdose is the result not of the use of pure leaf, but of enhanced leaf. (The more X, the smaller a dose should be taken). The emergency room visits occur not by pure leaf smokers but but X users. The emphasis in the User's Guide is not on proper dosing but on proper attitude (approaching salvia as a philosophical sacrament of self exploration, not a party;) however, is a poor attitude in terms of intent what causes the emergency room visits? No, overdosing is. What's needed primarily is dose education. For whatever reason one is using salvia, overdose will result in more negative stats to be used by those who would ban.

I was pleased to find this thread here and I hope this is still an active endeavor. I've been starting to follow the news a little closer with regards to not only salvia but all the states coming down on k2 and the spice-a-likes. My state just recently dropped that hammer, which I am not really concerned with, but what does concern me is how frequently they are mentioning salvia in relation to this. These sites promoting salvia irresponsibly, the YouTube videos, and lots of the herbal "party alternatives" are drawing negative attention that the media and officials are using to build the hype. I'm obviously not saying anything new, but I've been watching it build and the extremes on both sides - shady promoters and ignorant law makers - scare me. What scares me the most though is the ignorance and misinformation, and I feel that we have a lot of people unfamiliar with entheogens hearing about these legal things you can buy online to get "fucked up" so they hop online, punch in "salvia" and then instead of actually LEARNING something they find their way to these sites that market exactly the hype they heard about. And that is what makes sites like purple sticky salvia irresponsible. The last thing we need is for salvia to be related to these other "legal highs" and products marketed at kids looking for a buzz.

[Genius +], people should just go to hell and rot.
When you extract something 500x over, you're doing something you shouldn't be.
