List of irresponsible Salvia vendors
«
on:
February 10, 2008, 01:34:53 am »
I made this topic to create a list of all the Salvia vendors who are selling irresponsibly. So that means advertising Salvia as a recreational drug, an alternative to marijuana, or a legal high. I would like to get all websites selling Salvia to have a page explaining and encouraging responsible use of Salvia with a link to
Daniel Siebert's User Guide
. I think we can achieve this by collectively convincing these vendors that this is the best and most responsible way to sell Salvia and that they will be doing their part to help it remain legal in as many places as possible. We should keep a log of our actions and when someone refuses to change their site we will take further action. If we need to we can threaten to make a bad example of their site and discourage people from buying from them.
To make it easier for sites to change their policies we should write up a short article they can post on their site about responsible use of Salvia which includes a link to the User Guide. We can use the one I already wrote up, but I think it should be edited or added onto first:
Quote
The most important thing to understand about Salvia divinorum is that it is NOT a recreational drug. It should not be used for purely entertainment purposes and if you intend to use it this way you are likely to have a meaningless, useless, and/or unpleasant experience. Salvia is a powerful mind-altering shamanic herb that should be used for introspection, meditation, and contemplation. It produces a state of consciousness unlike that of any other psychoactive and many people find its effects unpleasant and/or confusing.
Word of caution: The Salvia experience can be extremely intense and you may lose control under its influence so it is important that anyyone choosing to experiment with Salvia divinorum should always have an alert, clear-thinking sitter present to prevent them from injuring themselves or others.
Here is a User's Guide that should be read by everyone before taking Salvia divinorum:
http://www.sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html
Another thing we should write up together is an email to send to these site that asks all of this in an effective and convincing way. Who wants to start writing this up? Just post.

And Purple Sticky is the worst one I've seen:

I'll put that one under questionable. The fact that they are selling them as joints is definitely a little suggestive. I think we should try to send them an email and get them to at least put a little bit about caution and a link to the User Guide. We should first write up an email that we will send.

For many things, grasscity is a very reputable store, run by some really nice people. I'm sure they'd take the suggestion to heart.

The one I have been using seems pretty responsible to me and I believe the product they sell is around 40X.

Is that one-page report to get your money back for real? I can write a wild report for them.
That spokeslady is cute too, reminds me of an art teacher in high school I had a crush on.

Yeah, they are quite good, I actually just affiliated with that site. One of the best sources for general info that also sells the plant, so I'm grateful for that. Apparently its quite a popular site as well.
This page is pretty ridiculous though, lol:

Although it has been reported that Salvia increases sexual/physical pleasure at low doses.

Hehehe one of my least enjoyable experiences so far was an experiment to see how masturbating would be different while I was on salvia. I must say, I couldn't get things working right, which has never happened to me before. Their site has a strange layout. I could only find a tincture on their page... where can I find their plants? And do they sell smokable extracts?

Yeah, I think we gotta throw these guys on the Blacklist. Look at their main image (not the only reason for adding them to least, but its just funny):
Damn I gotta get on the stick writing up a good email...we need to start pressuring.

Yeah, yours is pretty good. You give the appropriate warnings. My personal opinion however, is that 60X is quite excessive and I would prefer you sold less concentrated extracts...just because its harder to measure out a dose and therefore easier to lose control at those high concentrations.

I've seen thier site. They also, charge too much for most of their products. In addition to marketing to the Hype Types.

Interesting point. Maybe I'll add a bit more of a warning to that product's description. Also, if you ever get that document written, I'll probably link to that from my main salvia category page.

Ya, one tried 40X SD before, and one did find that the dose was hard to gage with that strength too. 15X to 20X seemed to be 1 hit stuff, so any stronger then that does seem pretty excessive.
