May 6, 2008 marked the last chance to vote on the proposed bill to make salvia a controlled substance in Alabama. The House had other more important bills to vote on and ran out of time. Salvia is safe from being banned for at least the remainder of 2008.

This is semi-good news for SD there, anyway. However, the stupid politicians that wrote that bill are likely to be back with another evil bill next year.  Undecided

Exactly! It's just a matter of time. There is no way that Southern Baptist Alabama is going to continue to let this bill die, now that the politicians are publicizing salvia and scaring up everyone.

It's not just the religious nuts or the lawmakers.

Check this out:

This is the video editorial from the paper's editor, the text editorial link can be found next to it.

Check out the first comment on these. Very well written imo.

Good thing we have Loretta Nall on our side: http://nallforgovernor.blogspot.com/ ... She frequently blogs about salvia's current status and state news.

Thanks lurkmode. I found this interesting indeed. Who knows, maybe Alabama has a chance. There seems to be quite a number of people defending salvia. It is all logical reasons as well.
