I'm pretty sure this hasn't been passed because it was proposed over 2 months ago, but it pisses me off how ignorant people are.

Head shops all around Minnesota are still selling it, but there was one in downtown Minneapolis that stopped selling it because too many crack heads came in to buy the stuff.  I bet they only bought it because it was a relief from crack addiction.

Here is a link to Minnesota's state government page where you can track the status of Bill HF2949 and SF2668. IF the bill passes as it stands now the efective date would be August 1st 2008. It looks like the last action was May 16th where it was placed on the schedule for the day to discuss it, but looks like they might have run out of time before they reached the discussion.... You should write your representatives asking them to amend the proposed bill to only make it a crime for minors to posses instead of everyone. And also request a public hearing so you can go speak the positive sides of Salvia. I am sure your legislators (as are mine) are clueless about the plant and want to ban it because of the videos on YouTube.

"Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 152.027, is amended by adding a subdivision to read:
Subd. 5.  Sale and possession of salvia divinorum.  (a) A person who unlawfully sells any amount of salvia divinorum is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
(b) A person who unlawfully possesses any amount of salvia divinorum is guilty of a misdemeanor.
EFFECTIVE DATE.  This section is effective August 1, 2008, and applies to crimes committed on or after that date."

Great City Pages article, I guess I missed that when it was written. As for the MN bill, they ran out of time to pass it this year, so it's not a worry until next January or February.
