I completely agree with the movement to at least restrict the use of Salvia to at least 18.  It's the best way to keep it legal because it shows some effort of keeping the use limited to adults.  Restricting it to 21 may seem unfair to adults between the ages of 18 to 21, but this would put it in line with alcohol.  I am the parent of a 14 year old and an 11 year old.  I certainly wouldn't want them to smoke anything or take any type of drug.  Though I have to admit if I found out they had tried Salvia I wouldn't freak out.  It's such a short lived high and has no lingering effects.

I rejoiced when I discovered what Salvia was and that is was legal here in Arizona because I suffer from arthritis and I hate taking pain pills.  I am usually free from pain long after the effects wear off.

I've modified the main AZ post and added an AZ specific template of the letter I sent into the sponsors of HB 2520 for anyone that wants to use it.  A more general template of this letter is being posted in the Legislative Guide for Salvia divinorum forum.

Just a heads up, the next legislative session begins on January 11, 2010 for Arizona.  Pre-filing of bills occurred November 15-16.

Just a heads-up - a new version of this bill has been posted on the AZ Leg. site as of February 5 for the 2010 legislative session, although I am unsure about whether this bill has actually been read in session yet.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad to see they modified it to an under 21 ban instead of a blanket ban.

That's great news, Peyote Way is in AZ, I think I'll send them a plant!
